What is Really TCM?

A lot of people might have heard or known a little bit about TCM, but not exactly sure what TCM really is.  TCM stands for Traditional Chinese Medicine.  It is a systematic and scientific medicine with comprehensive diagnosis, consistent treatment principles and effective treatment methods.  It is built upon both solid medicine theory and thousands of years of experiments of real patient treatments.

TCM covers the following main aspects:

Diagnosis:  which is the core and most important aspect of Traditional Chinese medicine

Treatment: which includes treatment principle or guideline, as well as specific treatment methods.   Treatment methods including Tuina(TCM massage), acupuncture/acupressure, moxibustion, scrapping, cupping, herbal formula (classic remedies).  Depending on the specific problem or disease nature,  one treatment method might be more effective than the others. On top of the above-mentioned treatment methods, there are also preventive and health preservative measures such as special TCM exercises (Qig气功, TaiJi-太极, WuQinXi-五禽戏, YiJinCao-易筋操, BaDuanJin-八段锦, to name a few), herbal teas, dietary soup etc.

I hope to be able to introduce you these aspects through articles, books/brochures, videoes so you can learn to diagnose your own problems, and do self care or self healing with home applicable methods such as acupressure, moxibustion, cupping, or even classic herbal formula , and most importantly to learn how to maintain your optimal health.

As some of the home treatment methods need the assistance of special tools (such as cupping, moxibustion, acupressure hammer), or materials (such as herbal teas), that’s why I tried to search around the best related products to recommend to you.

Check my website often to get my frequent post or blog addition.   With correct and enough TCM knowledge and information, you can be your own doctor. Believe me, you can know more of your body than any lab test or specialists.
